-----------Where Free-flow Dance & Contact Dance Meet
Do you long for more freedom in the way that you move? Are you looking to unlock your creativity, expand your movement vocabulary, and discover new ways to express yourself through dance?
Join us for a unique workshop exploring free-flow dance, ecstatic dance, and contact improvisation. No dance background necessary!
What we will explore:
How to play with rhythm and musicality
Finding movement freedom
Techniques to invite more playfulness, expression and embodiment in ecstatic dance
How to dance like nobody's watching
The fundamentals of contact dance: how to communicate through touch, and build trust and connection to yourself and others
In a supportive and inclusive environment, with a mixture of guided exercises and open movement, you’ll have the opportunity to tap into your inner rhythm and explore new movement patterns.
This Level 1 workshop is designed specifically for those who are new to or interested in learning the fundamentals of free-flow and contact dance. More advanced Level 2 workshops are coming in spring this year, which will only be available to those who have attended a Level 1 workshop.
When: Sunday 30th July, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Where: Bondi Pavilion - Seagull Room (upstairs)
Arrive for a prompt 1:30pm start. Bring comfortable clothing and a water bottle. A potential change of clothes, including long sleeves and pants, are recommended for when we explore contact improvisation.
We welcome you to join us at the end of the workshop for dance, drumming and fire-flow at Bondi Sunset Music (the grassy knoll at north Bondi).
