This is a Sacred Rite of Passage to Initiate Men,
who are ready to step more wholly into their
Power and Purpose, and into their Place within a Community.
This is far more than a drum making workshop, this is a 4 day retreat from your day to day life.
Our modern culture has lost very potent and important processes of Initiation. Rites of Passage rituals challenge us on every level and push us beyond what we thought was possible, to help us to embody our True Courage, Potential, Connection to all things. This is an opportunity to step into the next chapter of embodiment as the Man you were made to be! Although the man you will choose to be is yours to make, the Rite of Passage you will take to get there cannot be done alone.Through this weekend you will become a part of something much bigger than any man could be on his own. So… Are you ready?
“Parts of this process are left to the mystery, known only to the initiated. What we can tell you is that you must be ready to leave behind your old self and face a death that will challenge your being on every level. Physical, mental, emotional, and social. Only through facing this death will you be able to truly transform and be returned anew, ready to move forward with support and connection through your brotherhood”.
What will the weekend look like?
Friday April 14th >> Arrive by 10am for the opening talking circles.
You will be guided to make your own drum beater and connect as a circle through the power of the community Drum.
Saturday April 15th >> You will be guided to make your own medicine drum today.
As you journey with your drum you will discover the man that you have come here to embody.
Sunday April 16th >> Much of this day is left to the mystery of initiation.
Be ready to face your death, overcome your challenges and be reborn.
Welcome home Sons, Fathers, Uncles and Brothers.
Monday April 17th>> This is a day of reflection as we prepare to re-enter the world we came
from, we must first begin to integrate what has been. We will each take time alone to connect with our new drum and the land then return for our final closing circle.
About your Facilitator
James McCaskie Aguya WasteWi is Father, Carpenter and Ceremonial Facilitator born in Australia and both adopted and initiated as a man in North America through the Sundance traditions.
James has been facilitating ceremonial rites of passage for the last 10 years in this land and continues the vision of his Elders to see the sacred hoop of our Mother Earth made whole as we return to the sacred fires and remember ourselves each as a part of this great hoop (all creation).
