The drum beat represents the heartbeat of Mother Earth. The sound of your drum and its vibrational beat is unique to you as your energy and soul are poured into the making of your own drum. Symbolic of the power of your own voice.
Your drum's vibration is a reflection of what is happening within you. It has the power to amplify your intent, whether it is for your mantra or blessing to be heard, for healing and shifting energy, or for spiritual transcendence for you and the others around you.
You will be delighted by our local-based Master Shaman and holistic practitioner, Medicine Crow, who has 30 years of experience in teaching, supporting and guiding people to heal mind, body, and spirit. Read more of Medicine Crow's amazing journey here.
Focus your energy and intent as Medicine Crow guides you through the step-by-step process of the creation of your own powerful healing tool. You will gain insights and clarity within this 7-8 hour workshop.
Cost includes all materials to make a 13" Medicine Drum for you to take home the same day. More information on the drum materials below. No experience is necessary.

What you need to bring:
≜ BYO lunch and drinking water. (Alcohol not permitted on site).
≜ Please wear comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes.
≜ A Beater Stick (forage for a fallen tree branch) that is the same thickness as your finger, measuring from your elbow to the centre of your palm. It should be sturdy enough to beat your drum.
≜ An old sock for the beater padding.
≜ An old towel to lay down on the table as the hides will be soaking wet when we start.
Facilities on site: Kitchen and Bathroom.

⥈ MEDICINE CROW'S DRUM MATERIALS ⥈
The drum hoops are usually made out of Oregon or Maple wood.
The skin hides are either deer or goat depending on what's available.*
He uses artificial sineu made from hemp and bees wax.
13-inch circle hoops will be offered and will have a few 13-inch octagon hoops available for the workshop.
*Tapestry material also works well for the covering if you want to bring your own covering.
